Oops,I did it again.

~~Yesterday was my 2 year blogiversary. I am thinking about making up a quiz about me,myself and I just to see if you all have been paying attention the last 2 years. ;) I don't have time to do it right now but keep an eye out. Whoever wins just might get a prize! I know you are way excited for that! :P

~~Yesterday the internet was down (it turned out the modem was un-plugged), I was sick and my kids made a mess of the house. The End.

~~I have one of those 24 hour headaches that just won't go away. I am still going to the gym though, I will not be stopped!

~~Josh is so difficult in the mornings! It is like pulling teeth to get him ready for school. He won't answer me except to whine and I end up ornery because of it. If I have to do this for 11 more years,I will lose my freakin' mind. If anyone has any ideas on how to make him less cranky I would love to hear them.

~~On a good note: The weather is supposed to be really nice today with highs in the mid-60's and it looks like it will be around 70 this weekend. YAY!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

10 people love me:

Ooh, I think I'm about to make my blogoversary, too! I should check the date of my first post...

Glad to hear the weather's been nice! It's been that way for me too here in Miami. :)

And here's some advice for your cranky little Josh from someone else that's not a morning person -- me! Does he like breakfast? Cus I do, and that was the way my mom got me out of bed as a child -- making the most delicious breakfasts known to child. Trust me, it works.

Hey, I just checked and guess what? My bloggiversary is almost the same as yours? It's tomorrow, actually. :)

Have you tried any kind of reward for good behavior. It worked for me with David when he didn't want to walk home from school as a Sophomore. I gave him a quarter a day so he could play some kind of computerized game at the store (or somewhere, it's been so long I can't remember where, but not at home. Also can you imagine A QUARTER for something... not at today's prices)

I heard of one woman who made hot chocolate for her kids to get them to get up for scripture study before school. It worked for her, maybe something like that would work for you.

Prayer should work, too, if only to calm you down so you can deal with it in a positive manner. Then again you might pray and fast to have Joshie have a change of heart about going to school.

I will pray for you too. It can be hard to be a mom sometimes.

Happy Blogiversary! :)

I feel for you about the headache. I've had one for over a week now...I'm starting to think I have a brain cloud. (Have you ever seen "Joe Versus The Volcano"?)

LOL! Love the brain cloud comment!! Whoever Nancy is, she would totally get along with our fam!

So sorry about the headache and other bummers. As far as Joshy goes, I have read some things on parenting. One of the biggest things I've found that helps me is not getting angry, sort of acting like his behavior is not affecting you, even if you feel like punching a hole in the wall. Then, let the child choose. For example, he doesn't want to eat breakfast? Fine that is his choice, but then he has to live with the consequence of being hungry till lunch. From what I'v read, kids want to have some control in their lives, even if it is only a little. So, we give them options, they choose and live with the natural and logical consequences.

Hmm, this is getting long and may not be understandable. Maybe I will just email you one article that i read that has helped a ton.

Anyway, good luck! LUBS!

Ems - There was almost a hole punching incident this morning so I would love to read that article!

BOOO for dumb headaches.

I love it that all the advice (good advice btw) had to do with food :)

Don't wanna be a bummer, but Josh sounds just like me :") I was always honery and cranky in the morning. Still isn't my best time of day, though maturity helps to filter natural responses. When I'm tired and have to get up I hate being talked to. As long as he's getting to be early enough and sleeping well enough at night so you can be assured that he's well rested, I suggest setting up a very simple, very rigid morning schedule. If you can just point him in the right direction without a lot of chit-chat that might be less rankling to him. It may just take him a while to get going in the morning.
That's just my two cents from the other side of the morning grumps :P

I am not a morning person either which makes it even harder. I don't talk to him a lot,I just ask him what he wants for breakfast. I talked to him about it last night but we will see what happens.
