Thankful Thursday

(It's technically Thursday on the east coast) ;)

This week started out great, but during the last few days I've hit rock bottom. I try to be optimistic about our situation, but some days everything hits me at once and it's hard. I've had multiple phone calls about overdue bills which always puts a knot in my stomach. A bunch of little things went wrong this morning which put me in a bad mood. When I'm really stressed and ornery,I clean. So the good news is that the house is cleaned up,my bedroom is clean, all six baskets of laundry are folded, the kid's clothes are put away and I have a bag of clothes to give away. Now to brighten my spirits,I'm going to post some things I am thankful for...

Health - All of my family is healthy. None of my kids have been sick, and neither has me or Adam. We had some issues with Medicaid and after many trips to the office building,my kids have their medicaid cards. It's a big relief.

Family - We have wonderful family members who have helped us out in so many ways. There is a lot of support and love and it's nice to know that we aren't alone.

The Gospel - I'm grateful to be a member of the L.D.S church. There are a lot of terrific people in our ward and we have an awesome bishop. The relief society president calls often to check up on me,and to ask if I need anything. It's a great feeling to know that the church is there to help.

Movies and T.V. shows - It's nice to lose yourself in a story that takes your mind off of your troubles for a short time at least. These are some of my favorites that are guaranteed to put me in a better mood.

Exercising and weight loss - While it's been harder to use my gym membership now,I'm glad I have it. I was going regularly for the last month and feeling a lot better about myself. I've lost 25 lbs total and it's been so awesome. Now I just need to keep it up and go to the gym whenever I can.

Good friends and bloggy buds - I have so many great friends!! I chat with them during the day,we joke around on Facebook and have a good time. Because of Facebook,I've reconnected with some old friends from high school. We've had a few get-togethers and it's like we never stopped being friends. We have had a lot of fun. All of you guys are awesome!!

For all of my family and friends out there..

9 people love me:

Wow, 25 pounds? That's so awesome! Your list of blessings is inspiring. It's so easy to get caught up in life's crap and forget about the good stuff...

Love you, girl :)

I'm sorry things have been so difficult for you! I'm praying for you guys.

This is a great post! So many happy things! How awesome that you worked off 25 pounds...that is NOT easy to do at all!

25 pounds is amazing!
I have been working out.. and have lost more inches than pounds! It's frustrating because my clothes fit better.. but the numbers don't look as Happy as I want them too!

As for your cleaning.. YAY!

Sorry about your situation. I know everything you are feeling.. and it is hard to be positive.. but focus on the happy and positive.. and not the discouraging. I have to remind myself daily to keep having "Faith."

Glee makes me happy too! Where is Vampire Diaries?? Don't you LOVE that one too?

I love this post! How smart of you to do something constructive with your anxiety. When I get anxious, I just puke. Maybe I'll try to change over.... yours is way better.

And I just barely saw 17 Again for the first time over the weekend. OhMyGoodness why didn't anyone tell me what a great movie that is???

Ok, seriously, I thought people were just wigging out about Zac Effron. I didn't know that the MOVIE was actually good.

Also, were you holding a Sonic drink when you wrote that? Because it's entirely possible that I was mezmerized with the Sonic vibes.

I agree with Dave, it is because you are awesom.

One thing that helped my sister during the lean years was to pay a little bit on each bill - even if it's only $5.00 or $10.00 on a bill. That way at least they know you are doing the best you can under the circumstances (be sure you tell them your husband is out of work)and are not a deadbeat.

The best way to do this is in a letter (you keep a copy of it) so there is no problem with them telling you it's not enough.

There is a little good news. Joe has decided not to sell the house so you can stay in the apartment longer than the original 3 months.

We pray for you every day. We love you and are sure Heavenly Father loves you even more so hang in there.

You can come and clean my bedroom any time you run out of things to do at your house :)

btw I think you guessed this is Mither and not Jenn. Still haven't got that fixed yet. Sorry.
