My Sweet Savannah

We left for the hospital at 4:30 on Monday morning. As usual I was excited to see the baby but nervous about the surgery. All went well and before I knew it,I heard her cry. The first thing I realized was that she had a great set of lungs. The second thing was that she would be my smallest baby. I thought for sure that she would be around 8 lbs but she was just a tiny little girl. The doctors told me that my tubes were still tied so she really was just meant to be in our family. This time they took out pieces of my tubes so I REALLY better be done now. :)

Around Tuesday,my calves and feet started swelling up. I had the same problem with my last 2 babies so it wasn't a big surprise when it happened again. Then I developed a yeast infection around my upper legs and lower belly. Again,I had been through this before. I mentioned it to my doctor who prescribed diflucan. I took one before I left the hospital and one the next day, which was Saturday. I woke up that night wheezing and having trouble catching my breath. The next day my SIL,Jan came over to check on me and brought the equipment to check my vitals. They were normal so Jan thought I might have an infection and told me to call my doctor the next day. Then my FIL and BIL gave me a blessing which made me feel so much better.

My mom came over to help me out on Monday and she watched the kids while I went to the doctor. Long story short,he didn't know what was causing my wheezing and sent me to the hospital for a chest x-ray. It was negative and I was relieved that it wasn't really serious. I called Jan later that day because I developed hives and started itching everywhere. I asked her if she thought it could be an allergic reaction to something and we realized the diflucan was the only new medicine I had taken. She looked up the side effects online and a few people reported having a bad reaction to it. The effects were shortness of breath, wheezing, itching, swelling and hives and I had them all. Needless to say,no more diflucan for me.

I'm feeling much better today. My mom and my sister Sherry have been over a lot to help me out and the swelling in my feet is almost gone. Savannah is doing so great! She eats well and she slept for two 4 hour stretches last night. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself) The kids love her so much and they are adjusting really well. I'm truly blessed.

Here is a picture of my sweet girl and I'll post more later.

That sounds miserable, but I'm glad you (think) you know what caused it. Nothing worse than scary reactions with no known cause!
I'm so glad Savannah is doing well and the kids are totally in love :) Can't wait to see more pictures!
