'Creepy' Figure Haunts Town In Middle Of The Night

GENERAL GUEMES, Argentina - Residents of a small town in South America have been spooked by a bizarre-looking figure that was captured on video in the middle of the night.
A group of friends were socializing recently in the town of General Guemes, Argentina, when their attention was captured by a ruffling of some grass nearby. After several moments, a bizarre-looking figure emerged -- appearing to be short in stature and wearing a pointed hat.
Witnesses say it looked like a gnome -- a mythical creature characterized by its extremely small size and penchant for wearing red, pointed hats.
One of the witnesses captured the figure on video with his cell phone, which was later posted on Britain's The Sun website.
"We thought it was a dog, but when we saw this gnome-like figure begin to emerge, we were really afraid," The Sun quoted teenager Jose Alvarez as saying.
"This is no joke. We are still afraid to go out -- just like everyone in the neighborhood now," he added.
