Pics of the munchkins

I've been tagged!

Katie tagged me for this meme.

1) Where did you meet your husband?

~I met him in high school. We had weight-lifting class together.

2) What was the first thing you said to your husband?

~He asked me which one of us had asked him to the dance. (my friends "helped" me get over my shy-ness by singing a song asking him to go with me. He was so surprised he didn't know who had asked him)

3) Where was your first date?

~The Morp dance I asked him too. We got KFC and ate at my friend's house, then we went to the dance at our school. After we dropped the guys off I told my friends I was already twitterpated.

5) Did you have a short or long engagement?

~It was about 6 months so not long and not short.

6) Where did you get engaged?

~At my house on Christmas morning. He waited until my mom left the room and then he got down on one knee and officially proposed.

7) Where were you married?

~We were married at the church my parents attended. Then nine years later we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple with Josh (who was 2) and I was 7 months pregnant with Brianna.

8) How did the reception go?

~It went very well but we had a line so that's what we did most of the night. If I could do it again I would only have a line for half of the time.

9) How was the honeymoon?

~We couldn't afford one so we just went to our apartment. Four years later after Adam graduated from college we took a honeymoon to California and went to Disneyland. It was a lot of fun! :)

Works for me!

I wanted to remember all the funny and sweet things my kids say so I bought three small notebooks to keep in my kitchen cupboard. Now when they reach a milestone or say something I want to remember I can just get their book out and write it down. I can also put the phrases in their scrapbooks when I get some time (which will probably be when they are out of the house) ;)

Head over to Shannon's for more great ideas!

Happy Wednesday!

Wordless Wednesday

Yes,that is a pair of Transformers underwear on his head. I guess if you are going to wear underwear on your head, you better pick really awesome ones.

These dreams...

So apparently I've become obsessed with blogging. Last night I dreamed that Brayden had his own blog. Yes,you heard me. My 17 month old genius was a blogger. He had links to other blogs belonging to other kids. Every time I clicked on a link,it was a new picture of a little person. This freaked me out,it was a little too Baby Geniuses..now that is a scary movie.

I loved this movie! It had great suspense and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was definitely worth the money! I think everyone should go see it.

That's right,12 minutes! She weighs 7 lbs,2 oz. and is 19 inches long and they are both doing great. I can't wait to go see her! :)

Tonight Adam and I are going on a double date with my SIL and her hubby. We are going out to dinner and then we are going to see "The Bourne Ultimatum".

PPP-Digital Photography

I got my first camera when I was a teenager and over the years I have taken a lot of pictures. When digital cameras came out I had to save up the money to buy one and it was hard to be patient! I'm now on my second camera and I take it almost everywhere. You never know when that perfect moment will strike. I use my camera for everything..family gatherings, birthdays, reunions. Not to mention taking candids of my kids, which I do frequently.

My camera is an Olympus and I love the features on it. It gives me different options for the scenes I want to take such as portrait, landscape and night-time which really helps me take the best pictures. I can record short videos on it and there is even a shooting guide on the camera that gives me helpful tips. This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken with my Olympus.

My camera is still new but when I decide to buy a another camera I will definitely check out the Nikon D300.

Financial issues...

So Adam is out of town yet again and I'm feeling down. I had a bishop's appointment tonight to talk to him about our financial struggles. I didn't want to but I'm getting stomach pains about money lately. Obviously he has to see our bank statements to see what kind of help they can give us,but all of this makes me feel like an imbecile. I feel like he's thinking "oh you can't handle your money, you must be really dumb and immature" Now I know he wasn't,he is a very nice guy. I just hate this stress and worry. I hope things look better tomorrow.

Great contest!

I would love to buy a Dyson vacuum but it's something our budget won't allow. Now I have the chance to win one! There is a great contest going on at 5 minutes for mom where they are giving away a pink Dyson in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The full price of the Dyson will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Fund and whenever a pink Dyson is purchased from Target,$40 of the price will be donated as well! My mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor so this cause is very important to me. Head on over and enter now!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my SIL. She is my BFF and exercise buddy. She encourages me when I don't feel like working out and she makes it fun to exercise. (an amazing feat!) She always helps me and doesn't ask for anything in return. Not to mention countless dinners she has invited me too, especially when Adam is out of town.

I'm thankful for my hubby who works so hard to provide for our family. He's a great husband and a terrific daddy to our kids.

I'm thankful for my munchkins and for the laughter they bring into our home. After going through four miscarriages,I wasn't sure if I would ever have children. I feel very blessed to have three beautiful, healthy kids.

I'm thankful for my parents who love and support me. They are good and honest people and great examples for my children. Both of them are cancer survivors and I'm grateful that they are still here with us.

What are some things you are thankful for?

Sick..

It's not even winter yet and I'm tired of being sick! I caught Brayden's cold so yay for me. At least I haven't caught diarrea from him...yet.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

So today we are sharing a fun idea. Mine is an idea that my SIL passed along to me. It's not so much "fun" but useful. I buy big packages of hamburger meat so I always separate it into portions. The problem was that it always took a long time to defrost. My SIL suggested using Ziploc Freezer Bags and mashing the meat flat. Then to defrost it you put it in a hot water and within five minutes it's ready. It's also much easier to store in your freezer. For more great ideas head over to Rocks in my Dryer!

So today while I was getting a diaper and rash cream for Brayden he climbed up on my computer chair to bang on the keyboard. All of the sudden my ears detected the unmistakable sound of puking. Yep,you guessed it...he threw up all over my computer table. Fortunately he completely missed the keyboard because it was pushed up against the monitor. I guess even Brady is old enough to understand my need for the internet.

Shannon mentioned this tool at flickr which spells your name with different pics of letters. Here's mine..

Why do I try?

This week my kids have taken it upon themselves to mess up the house as much as they can. Every day the house has crumbs all over the floor and toys scattered from here to there. I clean it every night but you wouldn't think so if you visited me. Just now Brianna decided that Brady was a dog and dumped some crackers on the floor for him to eat. Do you think he ate them? Of course not..he went and got their toy vacuum so he could "clean" up the mess. Now instead of crackers there are cracker pieces and crumbs. It's only 9:00am and I want to crawl back in bed. I'm going to clean up the house and then take the kids to the park. That way it will stay clean for 2 hours at least.

I want to be the biggest loser!

My hubby's family decided to do a biggest loser competition. My BIL and SIL have a huge bank full of money that will be the prize for whomever loses the most weight by the end of the year. We are all paying an entry fee and whoever wins gets the entry fees and bank money. It's close to $400 so that is very motivating for me! :D I am going to the gym and counting calories again. Another cute moment

I know, this is my second mushy and "awww" post but my kids have been doing some cute things lately! Brady is my little character. The pic above is him folding his arms for a prayer. Then today Bri and I were waving to Josh as he got on the bus. Brady started waving and saying "ba bye". Then he just stopped and blew Josh a kiss. It was so dang cute!

Now I'm off to Wal-Mart and Costco to spend lots of money since we are out of everything...or so it seems anyway.

I must be doing something right

I have had a lot of days where I wonder if I'm setting a good example for my kids. Am I teaching them the important things in life? Well today I had one of those moments where I felt I was doing the right things. I fixed breakfast for Brianna and after helping her up to the table she said,"mom can I say a prayer?" I said,"sure you can" and she said "you gotta pause the movie first" (LOL) Thanks goodness for her reminder. ;)

PPP-Electronic Disclosures

When we took out a loan for a house,I couldn't believe all of the paperwork we had to fill out. Now there are Electronic Disclosures or eDisclosures which make the whole process much simpler. All of the loan documents are converted to an electronic format called SMARTdoc which can separate the document from the data on it. It is entirely electronic and it could save thousands of dollars for everyone involved...and who wouldn't like to save money?

My new addictions

There are 2 things that I purchase everytime I go to Wal-Mart.

1. Eagle brand honey barbeque poppers. My kids and I love these things! We can go through 2 bags in 3 days. Once I start snacking on these,I have to force myself to stop. (confession: I once ate a whole bag by myself) *oink, oink*

2. Great Value Deli style seasoned potato wedges. These are sooo good and they taste just like the ones you get at a deli. Delish!!!

Books and more books

So today Josh brought home a book order packet. I remember getting so excited when we got our book orders or had a book fair. I have always loved to read and I hope to pass that on to my kids. My kids really enjoy Sandra Boynton books, especially Pajama Time and The Going to Bed Book. As for me I enjoy reading LDS fiction and romance especially books by Anita Stansfield and Rachel Ann Nunes.

So what are some of your kids' favorite books? Or your favorites?

Works for me Wednesday: Brand-Loyal Edition

Happy Wednesday to you! Today's edition of Works for me Wednesday is all about which brands we are loyal to. Personally I buy a lot of generic items but here are a few specific things I can think of..

Dove soap-I tried the generic brand and it just didn't compare. It left my skin so dry and itchy.

JIF peanut butter-Simply the best..better than all the rest. (sorry I was having a Tina Turner moment)

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese-It's the cheesiest..'nuff said.

Huggies or Kirkland diapers are what I usually buy for my son. The only diapers I won't buy are Dri Bottoms,I don't like those at all! My favorite baby wipes are Kirkland as well. I love the packages because they are easy for travel and the wipes are really thick.

Eucerin healing ointment is great for preventing diaper rash. It makes a really good barrier for wetness.

Now head on over to Rocks in my Dryer and see what brands other people are fond of!

Detectors Save Lives

Earlier this year a friend of mine,Michelle, lost her sister-in-law and best friend to a natural gas explosion. Now she is trying to spread the word about methane gas detectors. She started this website and she has posted a lot of information that could save the life of someone you know. She wants to make sure that every family knows that a $60 device can protect them from poisoning or explosion due to methane and propane gas or carbon monoxide. Click here to enter a drawing she has on her site and you could win a free detector. What she is doing is very important so please visit her site!

PPP-eSign

There is a new type of software that allows you to sign documents electronically. It's called eSign and there are three different ways you can sign your documents.

1. Click to Agree - Easily sign documents by clicking a simple agreement
2. Electronic Signature Pad - Similar to devices common at retail stores
3. Tablet PC - Sign your name with a digital pen directly on the screen

Now borrowers can sign their loan documents anywhere there is web access. Encomia software is so flexible,it can be installed directly on your computer or it can be accessed on the web.

When you use the software you will be guided though the signing process and there are tutorials and wizards to assist you. The software alerts you if there is any incomplete information in the documents and it includes an option to sign each of the documents individually or all at once with one signature.

Digital signatures are as safe, binding, and secure regardless of the electronic signing method used. Encomia's software also locks an encrypted digital stamp on each signature, and it is tamper proof to prevent any alterations of your documents.

It happened again..

My SIL and I had a trip to the zoo planned for tomorrow but her little one is sick so we decided to go another time. Back in June we had plans to go but Brady and I got strep throat so we were the ones to cancel last time. Luckily I didn't tell the kids about the zoo, just that I had something fun planned. After disappointing my kids countless times (according to them),I realized it's better not to say anything until we are going FOR SURE! We've decided to take our kids to the Kangaroo Zoo instead. Josh has been there once and loved it,and Bri and Brady haven't been there at all. Then we are having a B-B-Q here at the house so hopefully my kids will get worn out and sleep good tomorrow night! :-)
