Memories...

I am meeting up with some friends from high school this weekend and it has made me very nostalgic. I'm going to post some songs that bring back memories of high school..most of these are from 1993.

"I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" - The Proclaimers.

I feel happy when I hear this song. Just try not to dance when you hear it.

"Shoop" - Salt n Pepa

My friends and I used to jam to this song when we were driving around. Yeah,we were awesome.

"I Love the Way You Love Me" - John Michael Montgomery

This song reminds me of all of the times that my group of friends and I went country dancing. My most favorite thing to do,I loved it!

I was looking up charts for 1993 and I forgot how many songs I loved from that year. Fun times.

My Birthday!

Today is my 32nd birthday. I know you are probably expecting this pensive and retrospective post with many details about my life....but I'm feeling lazy, so this will be a picture post.

Aren't I the cutest? I was a bald and tiny baby. I weighted 5 lbs when I was born. In the top picture,I am wearing my blessing dress and I'm one year old. In the bottom picture I was two years old.

Whenever my mom had my pictures taken, she would gather every little hair I had so she could make a curl. This was a nice one don't you think? I was six years old here..just kidding. I was actually three years old. I had so much fun being a baldy baby,I decided to pass it on to my two youngest boys. Camden is almost fifteen months old and he finally has the hair of a five month old. Yessss.

This is me a few months before my 9th birthday. I was a member of a local dance team called The Golden Girls. And I am SO rocking the jelly shoes!

Age 13 - I really wish my complexion still looked like that without me having to use a ton of concealer and minerals make-up. I was wearing my favorite pair of earrings too.

Age 15 - I was officially a high school-er. Check out the chipmunk cheeks. I was rocking the bangs though!

Age 16 - wearing my favorite color, wishing my bra strap wasn't showing and wondering what was going on with my hair.

Age 21 - "Oh,skinny picture. I sometimes want to weep when I look at you."
(I was working for Merry Maids and I lost 35 lbs. It was the bomb.com!!)

Age 22 - This is how I look every day. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

Here I am,10 years later. Older but wiser. ;)

First Day of School!

The morning went very smoothly. Josh made the comment to Brianna that "he was happy that she was in school now,so he had someone to get ready with." Josh is a great big brother,he talked to Brianna about school the whole walk there. When we got inside they were both smiling but as soon as we walked to the gym where all of the kids were,Brianna started sucking her thumb. (which she does when she is nervous or scared)
She said she was shy with all of these people around. I told her that it will only be students and teachers after today and she relaxed a little bit. Josh and Bri said hi to their aunt Tiffy who works as a teacher's aide and then I took some pictures. I walked them over to their teachers, gave them big hugs and then watched them leave to go to their classrooms. I hope they both have a fun day!

How is it that this girl..

...is in kindergarten!?

And this one just started kindergarten didn't he??!

No tears,just big smiles!

My little helper!

"Mom,enough with the pictures."

It's so quiet..Camden is asleep,Brady is playing his bedroom. Ahh,bliss.

The List - Part 2

Here are some more crushes from my preteen/teen years...

Jon Knight from NKOTB -
I know most girls were into Jordan and Joey but I always had a place in my heart for Jon. When I found out that he was dating Tiffany,I was so jealous!
(Jon is on the right)

Gunnar and Matthew Nelson -
Did I love their music? Yep. Did I go to one of their concerts? Yep. Were they prettier than me? Yep.
I remember my mom saying,"they look like girls, how can you think they are cute?" Then I showed her a picture of their band and she thought the drummer was cute. Oh but mom,he has long hair! :O

Johnny Depp -
I still have a crush on him to this day...my favorite character of his is Jack Sparrow. He is playing the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland and the picture of him creeps me out a lil' bit. He is a great actor so I'm sure he will do an awesome job, but I still won't watch it. I've NEVER liked Alice in Wonderland and this one looks even trippier than the other versions.

Hmm..now I have the 21 Jump Street theme song in my head. "I said,"jump!"

Mark Paul Gosselaar -
Zack Morris...playa's gotta play. I wonder how many girls he kissed on Saved By the Bell?

David Lascher -
He was on Hey Dude, (one of my favorite Nick shows),he played Vinnie on the show "Blossom" and he seemed to have a part on every other teen show in the 90's.

The List

Recently a bloggy buddy of mine made a list of hotties on her blog. I am going to do the same thing with a twist. I'm going to post my crushes though the years. Here is part 1,the early years.

The first crush I ever had was on John Schneider,A.K.A. Bo Duke from the show the Dukes of Hazzard. I was only 6 or 7 years old at the time, but I remember thinking he was cute. So began my boy-craziness...

"Dude, your jeans are really tight!" (Name that movie)

The Outsiders.
(except for Tom Cruise and Matt Dillon..they were meh.) Ralph Macchio was my fave. Stay gold Ponyboy.

Michael Schoeffling A.K.A Jake Ryan.
*swoon* He was so mature and dreamy. Oh and don't believe everything you see on google images..he was not in The Breakfast Club. Mermaids and Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken? Yes. Breakfast Club? No.

Michael J. Fox
I loved him in Family Ties,I've seen Teen Wolf and Back to the Future thousands of times and he was awesome in Spin City. He is just a hilarious guy. What would we do baby, without Michael J.?

Kirk Cameron
The first thing I think of when I think of Kirk Cameron is his smile. It drove the girls crazy and he knew it. He liked to pretend he was a bad boy but when it came down to it,he was a nice guy. (I also love that he and Michael J Fox are still married to their wives and seem nice and normal, not Hollywood)
I remember having a copy of this picture on my wall. *sigh*

To Be Continued...

Hair Do or Hair Don't?

Here is Brianna's new hair-do..

..and here is Camden's. This look can be accomplished by pouring water onto the tray of your high chair, rubbing your hands in it,and combing your hair forward.

Good/Not-So-Good

Good -
My baby boy is feeling so much better! Because of the sores in his mouth,he cried a lot when he ate food. :( Yesterday there was no crying and he is back to sleeping all night. YAY!!

Not-So-Good -
This is a little surprise I found tucked under the microwave. Brianna cut her hair again because she wanted bangs like my niece's. It looks like we are going to the hair salon tomorrow.

Good -
Only 9 days until school starts! The kids need shoes and Josh needs a backpack and then they will be ready to go! :)

Not-So-Good -
We still haven't heard anything about the house. This waiting is really getting on my nerves.

Update

~Adam is officially a college student! Classes start in a week and a half and he will graduate in three years. The great news is that Adam will receive a lot of financial aid. That's a big relief!

~After talking to my agent,I found out that there are 10 offers on the home and that includes our offer. Supposedly we are one of the better offers but at this point,we are still waiting..

~Camden has not been feeling well the past few days and he is ORNERY! To make matters worse, the kids keep bothering him and making him freak out. Camden had a horrible night and was up every hour and a half. :(

UPDATE on the Update: After taking Camden to the doctor today,I found out he has the coxsackie virus A.K.A. hand, foot and mouth disease. The poor little guy has sores all over in his mouth. The sad part is that there is nothing I can give him,we just have to wait it out. He will be contagious until the sores are gone which could be another 5-7 days. I had scheduled gym appointments for today and tomorrow so it figures someone would get sick. Every time I make an appointment for the gym, someone gets sick or something comes up that makes me have to cancel. The same thing always happens to Karla as well. She told me today,"Maybe Heavenly Father wants us to be chubby." ;)

A Few of My Faves

Fave Actor - Robert Downey Jr.
Loved him in Ironman! I can't wait to see Ironman 2 as well as Sherlock Holmes, but my favorite RDJ movie would have to be Heart and Souls. He was hilarious in that film! Just a fun,feel-good movie! If you haven't seen it,I highly recommend it.

Fave Actress - Reese Witherspoon
I've loved her since I saw her in "Man in the Moon". She is great in "Legally Blonde","Sweet Home Alabama", and "Just Like Heaven".

Fave Perfume - Imari Seduction by AVON
This is my fragrance. Every time I wear it,I receive a lot of compliments.

Favorite Book - Twilight
I know,this one is a no-brainer. :P

Favorite Restaurant - Outback and Lost Hermanos
I can't choose,I love both of these places. Outback for the cheese fries,Los Hermanos for the beef taquitos. YUM!

Favorite Show - Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Supernatural is my favorite show but since it is on summer hiatus,I've been watching discs of BTVS. I'm just starting season 3 which is one of my favorite seasons. Some of the later seasons like 6 and 7 got a little too dark for me.

Changes

~Adam has decided to go back to school. He has an appointment this week to see if he qualifies for financial aid. *fingers crossed*

~We turned in an offer on a house on Friday. We will find out if it is accepted tomorrow night. It's a short sale so if it is accepted, then we will be waiting on the bank. I just hope they are anxious to get it sold.

~School starts in 2 weeks. 2 weeks!!?? Summer, where have you gone? I still need to get a few things for the kids. Thank goodness this week is payday.

~Adam fixed my van yesterday. There was a hole in the metal tube that goes into the water pump. One tiny hole and it's bye-bye antifreeze. Luckily it wasn't a very expensive part and now the antifreeze will stay in the coolant reservoir. It's always a good thing when you don't have to worry about your van over-heating.

P.S.
Edward Cullen just harvested for me on FarmTown. Don't hate. :P
